My Perfect Husband Summary

The story begins with Bharathi, a professor at a college, teaching children about the history and significance of lies in our daily lives. He affirms that despite our early indoctrination to always speak the truth, the opposite is often true. There are lies in every healthy relationship that a human mind can think of. In fact, there are lies all around us. But these lies are said only for the sake of maintaining or propagating love and happiness in a relationship. This concludes the day’s lecture.

Bharathi has a good reputation in college, and his female colleagues respect him for the way he carries himself. One such colleague, Miss Vimla, has a crush on the professor. However, Bharathi is a complete family man who stays with his two sons, a daughter, and a beautiful wife named Saraswati.

One fine day, Saraswati informs her husband that she has received a proposal for marriage from Cochin, Kerala, for their eldest son, Vashikaran. Therefore, they need to plan their visit to Cochin at the earliest. Unfortunately, Bharathi will have to skip the tour because he has to attend a college seminar scheduled during the same time period. Therefore, he tells Saraswati to proceed with the matchmaking with the rest of the family members.

On arrival at Cochin, Saraswati is taken aback by the beauty of the backwaters, and that sets the tone of their visit. Finally, they have reached their destination at the Subramaniam house. Both the families exchanged plesantaries, and on a joyful note, Saraswati confirmed the marriage of his elder son with Deepika Subramaniam. She informed the Subramaniams that she would come up with a probable date to solemnise their marriage upon reaching Chennai and after discussing with her husband. With this promise, Saraswati, along with her sons and daughter, heads back to Chennai.

Once they arrived home, Saraswati gave her husband a summary of their trip. Sadly, on hearing about the girls family, Bharathi became restless. He couldn’t believe his destiny that Deepika’s mother is none other than his long forgotten childhood love, which was not allowed to prosper. It’s a secret that Bharathi has not spoken to anyone to date. And now he fears for his reputation of being a one-woman man.

Therefore, he employs all possible strategies to prevent and annul Vashikaran’s marriage to Deepika. Unfortunately, he is unable to persuade Saraswati to cancel the marriage. Bharathi then decides to discuss the matter with his female colleague at college, Miss Vimla, who suggested he walk up straight to his wife and tell the truth. Initially, Bharathi was hesitant, but the next day he spoke the situation to Saraswati. She went on a deep shock and got extremely annoyed at her husband.

Now, Saraswati takes it upon herself to let go of the marriage proposal. Unfortunately, the very next moment, Deepika is at their house to meet Vashikaran. She had come to Chennai to spend some quality time with her future in-laws, and therefore she stayed with them in their house. Meanwhile, Saraswati kept a watch on her husband, who was keen to know the present status of his ex-lover from Deepika.

On returning home from Chennai, Deepika’s mother saw a chain gifted by his prospective father-in-law hanging around her daughter’s neck, which took her back to her childhood days. She accurately recalled that it was the same souvenir she had passed on to her lover. That’s how she got to know that Vashikaran’s father is his estranged love from childhood. Clearly, now she’s against Deepika’s marriage to Vashikaran. Meanwhile, Bharathi persuaded Saraswati to support Vashi’s marriage to Deepika and refrain from punishing his son for his actions.

On Deepika’s side, Mr. Subramaniam reprimanded his wife to forget about what has happened in the past and look forward. He emphasised that one should not jeopardise their children’s future for the sake of cherished memories. Finally, it’s time for both families to gather for a formal discussion on the marriage schedule. But the meet-up couldn’t have been smooth. However, during this final journey, Bharathi resolves all the doubts and confusion between him and Deepika’s mother, paving the way for his son Vashikaran to enjoy a normal, blissful marriage.

My Perfect Husband Review

The plot of the movie seems convincing, but as you move forward, episode by episode, it tends to get monotonous. Too much stress is put on Bharathi trying to win his wife’s trust, as if he has done a big blunder by loving somebody, and that too in his childhood years. An episode or two will go on winning Saraswati’s heart and on flashbacks.

Sathyaraj’s character is very weak and appeared out of order. After watching the entire webseries it’s difficult to gauge whether Bharathi is a decent family man or a flirtatious character. The last episode makes a mess of Sathyaraj’s character. The prospect of a bride living with her future in-laws before marriage or the ring ceremony is difficult to digest. However, I think the inclusion of this element was necessary to advance the narrative.

The rest of the actors gave their best to make the web series feel authentic. However, a lacklustre screenplay undermines the entire series. My Perfect Husband web series consists of 8 episodes, with each episode averaging roughly 30 minutes. Watching eight episodes with a plot like this can be quite exhausting. The cinematography and the background score appear very basic.

My Perfect Husband Final Words

Whether to watch the My Perfect Husband web series is quite a difficult call. Somebody who loves to watch slow family dramas may connect with the content. I believe that the web series falls flat to achieve its desired result. Neither the star cast nor the story keeps you hooked to your seats. Overall, if you’re a hardcore web series lover, give it a try once. There is no age boundary to watch My Perfect Husband web series.
